  29. 3Some readers of the FORUM will recall news accounts during  3
  30. 3the Gulf War of the use of psychics by the UN to find Saddam3
  31. 3Hussein's hidden biological weapons.                        3
  32. 3                                                            3
  33. 3Fewer readers will recall that PSI TECH was the name of the 3
  34. 3company which provided the psychics to the UN, and that     3
  35. 3Major Ed Dames, Retired, US Army Intelligence, is the       3
  36. 3president of PSI TECH.                                      3
  37. 3                                                            3
  38. 3And probably no readers are aware that PSI TECH and Ed Dames3
  39. 3have anything to do with UFOs, and as for the UFO community,3
  40. 3Dames has a message that could split the community down the 3
  41. 3middle.  What's the message?  UFOs are real.  Roswell isn't.3
  42. 3                                                            3
  43. 3Dames said that for nearly 10 years he and his colleagues in3
  44. 3PSI TECH have used a psychic technique called "remote       3
  45. 3viewing" to gather information on the UFO phenomena.  Remote3
  46. 3viewing was developed in the 1980s by psychic Ingo Swann at 3
  47. 3the Stanford Research Institute.                            3
  48. 3                                                            3
  49. 3While he was in the military, Dames studied remote viewing  3
  50. 3with Swann and trained others in the technique.  In 1989    3
  51. 3Dames founded PSI TECH, which offers remote viewing services3
  52. 3to industry, governments, and organizations.                3
  53. 3                                                            3
  54. 3Dames says PSI TECH consists of a team of 8 remote viewers, 3
  55. 36 of whom are "present duty or active duty Army intelligence3
  56. 3or Army special operations officers."  The team works on    3
  57. 3projects like finding Iraq's hidden weapons, locating       3
  58. 3Mozart's grave, and determining the fate of the passengers  3
  59. 3of Korean Airline 007.  But PSI TECH's major project has to 3
  60. 3do with UFOs.                                               3

  62. 3PHI TECH's major current project, according to Dames, is to 3
  63. 3provide "scientific validation" of an "operational UFO site"3
  64. 3he says he's located in Northern New Mexico.  Leading       3
  65. 3scientists will announce the results to the public no later 3
  66. 3than April, 1993, says Dames.                               3

  68. 3There is much about ed Dames that will deeply interest the  3
  69. 3UFO community.  A former Major in the United States Army,   3
  70. 3Dames is talking openly about UFOs.  No deep throat, the    3
  71. 3Major, no anonymous source.  And not a cryptic commentor    3
  72. 3either.  Dames is speaking volumes.                         3

  74. 3He says UFOs are real.  The abductions are real.  The greys 3
  75. 3are real.  The hybrids are real.  The bizarre strangeness is3
  76. 3real.  But what is not real is the single most important    3
  77. 3case developed by the UFO research community.  What is not  3
  78. 3real is the case whose multitude of witnesses and meticulous3
  79. 3documentation is so impressive it can be presented anywhere 3
  80. 3to any public forum including the U.S. Congress.  That case 3
  81. 3is not real, and the U.S. Government has no pieces of a     3
  82. 3crashed flying saucer in it's possession, Dames says.       3

  84. 3What was Roswell?  According to Ed Dames, Roswell was a     3
  85. 3fictitious event staged by the alien, something Dames calls 3
  86. 3"brain wave entertainment," something he says he found out  3
  87. 3about through remote viewing.  "Truck drivers frozen at the 3
  88. 3wheel" and "white spheres all over the place."  That's what 3
  89. 3Dames says the Roswell site actually looked like in 1947,   3
  90. 3even though "the participants will go to their graves       3
  91. 3swearing it was real."                                      3

  93. 3In repudiating Roswell, Ed Dames puts himself at odds with  3
  94. 3the UFO community even as he gives that community something 3
  95. 3it desperately wants: public confirmation of the phenomena  3
  96. 3from a high level government source.  This surely is a      3
  97. 3prescription for an uneasy relationship between the UFO     3
  98. 3community and Ed Dames.                                     3
